An Overview of Choptank District

      Choptank District is, geographically, one of the largest boy scouting districts within
Del-Mar-Va Council.  The district is located on the Delmarva peninsula on Maryland's "Eastern Shore" and includes Caroline County, Dorchester County, Queen Anne's County, Talbot County, and the fringes of Kent and Wicomico Counties.  The district is bounded by the Chesapeake Bay to the west and the Delaware state line to the east.

      There are currently 22 Cub Scout Packs, 20 Boy Scout Troops, and 2 Explorer Posts.  There are currently registered a total of 1,249 Cub Scouts, 383 Boy Scouts, and 21 Explorers (and growing).  There are 475 registered adults leaders.

      The area is mostly rural with an economy mainly comprised of agricultural and seafood related business and industry.
